Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 18, 2026  ·  Last Updated: May 18, 2026

At Blinkko Labs, Inc. ("Blinkko," "we," "our," or "us"), your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our hardware device, mobile application, website, and all related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information

When you create a Blinkko account, we collect your name, email address, username, and password. You may also optionally provide a profile photo and a short bio.

Device & Proximity Data

The Blinkko device uses short-range wireless signals (Bluetooth Low Energy) to detect other nearby Blinkko devices. We collect anonymous signal events (proximity encounters) to power features like your Glow Index and Bump history. These signals do not transmit or expose your personal identity to other users unless you have explicitly connected with them in the app.

Location Information

With your permission, we may collect approximate location data (city or neighborhood level) to enable location-based features such as city channels and local meetups. We do not continuously track your precise GPS location in the background without your explicit consent.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Services, including app screens visited, features used, session duration, crash reports, and device information (model, operating system version, unique device identifiers).

Purchase Information

When you make a purchase, our payment processor collects your payment card details. We store only the last four digits of your card, billing address, and transaction history. We do not store your full card number.

Communications

If you contact us by email or through in-app support, we retain those communications to help resolve your issue and improve our Services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Operate and improve the Blinkko device and app
  • Calculate and display your Glow Index and Bump history
  • Enable location-based features you opt into
  • Process purchases and send order confirmations
  • Send product updates, announcements, and promotional messages (you can opt out at any time)
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the Services
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or target you with third-party ads.

3. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Services — such as cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics, and customer support tools. These providers are contractually obligated to use your data only to perform services on our behalf.

Other Users

Your username and profile photo are visible to other users you connect with in the app. Proximity encounter events are anonymous by default — your identity is only shared when you mutually confirm a connection with another user.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Blinkko, our users, or the public.

Business Transfers

If Blinkko Labs, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes (such as purchase records, which we retain for up to 7 years).

Anonymized, aggregated data (such as encounter statistics with no identifying information) may be retained indefinitely for research and product improvement purposes.

5. Your Rights & Choices

Access & Correction

You can access and update your account information at any time through the app settings.

Delete Your Account

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing info@blinkko.co or through the account settings in the app.

Location Permissions

You can enable or disable location access at any time through your device's operating system settings. Disabling location will turn off location-based features.

Marketing Emails

You can opt out of promotional emails by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any marketing email or adjusting your notification preferences in the app. You will still receive transactional emails (such as order confirmations and security alerts).

California Residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale (we do not sell personal information). To exercise these rights, contact us at info@blinkko.co.

6. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and improve your experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of our website.

We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals at this time, as there is no consistent industry standard for doing so.

7. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we may have collected such information, please contact us at info@blinkko.co.

8. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These include encryption of data in transit (TLS), encryption of data at rest, and access controls limiting who within Blinkko can access user data.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you suspect a security incident involving your account, please contact us immediately at info@blinkko.co.

9. Third-Party Links & Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party platforms (such as Discord). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any information with them.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the updated policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
